Senses Remix 4/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Dreas | |
| Comments | Good solid beat, with a very distinct Dreas feel. Doesn’t go overly mad, just delivers a smooth noise that flows really well. The big plus is that the two anthems are both nice and long and slightly different in terms of that tempo feeling. The second just has an extra lift that makes this such a better than average tune. The actually sound being delivered is quite a simple one, but it has a passion behind it that really stands out. I like this tune. | |

Facades 2008 Remake 4/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Facade | |
| Comments | A powerful sound here, very haunting in places and then very club in others. The main sound is a very continuous one, not really a melody of such it’s just the tune itself. The noise just keeps pounding away, with the odd change in rhythm now and then. A very uplifting tune, has a real sense of urgency about it; a wanting to really make your ears hurt. There’s nothing majorly bad about this tune, in fat; it’s a sound I really like and one I’m sure you will as well. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Fast Distance | |
| Comments | This has a simple enough club sound to it, by that it’s a tune that you would expect to hear during any half decent set. It’s a good tune, but doesn’t do much that I’ve not heard before. It has a good beat and feel throughout and the anthem is a strong one, uplifting towards the end with some extra noise. This is a good tune, nothing brilliant; but certainly nothing bad. Have a listen, you will probably enjoy. | |

Orjan Nilsen Balaeric Mix 5/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Orjan Nilsen | |
| Comments | This is a great tune and one that I really like at the moment and play an awful lot. The name itself got me excited as I love a guitar in a good tune and this delivers exactly that without any hesitations. From the off you do wonder as it’s just a solid beat with some noise here and there. The track then pauses and the twangy guitar kicks in and then doesn’t leave the tune until the end. The whole tune is then about a good beat and the guitar just rocking along, it’s just so sweet and so simple. This is the sound of summer, so rush out and buy it right now; you won’t regret it. | |

Nitrous Oxide Mix 3/5 : Good |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Prospekt | |
| Comments | Been a while since I got a tune on the ‘Lost Language’ label, so was quite excited. Not the usual stuff, but a good tune none the less. Very slow to get going with a really long build up, but once the sound kicks in it’s a got a great uplifting feel and tempo to it. The melody is a single long one that changes midway with some extra uumph to keep it going. Ends a bit on the sudden side, but still a good tune that rocks where it’s supposed to. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | John Huijbers | |
| Comments | Very slow to get going this, with a really weird (and now and then irritating) noise to contend with. I think this track tries hard to be progressive and deep, but then uplifting, which can get a tad confusing. There are two melodies, both almost identical. I can’t make my mind up with this tune, I listen to it as I type and I’m quite enjoying it. It has a different sound than the current crop, so I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Have a listen yourself and make your own mind up. | |

| Comments | I was quite excited when I got hold of this, but have to admit to being a tad disappointed. The tune has a good sound to it, it’s a just a bit too samey. There’s a nice start with the main theme being delivered without the beat, has a very haunting affect. The beat then kicks in and the sound is taken up a notch, but it doesn’t go much further. This is still a good tune, with a clear trance sound and feel to it. Perhaps my anticipation was a bit high, don’t know why; but it was. You should have a listen as people are going to like this. | |

Agnelli & Nelson Remix 4/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Solarstone | |
| Comments | There’s something about this track that I really like. The spooky vocals throughout are really cool and the tune has a nice toned down feel to it. I like the beat, it’s very simple and the synths on top are equally as simple. The melody moves really well, changing midway with a more upbeat tempo. This doesn’t scream at you, it’s just subtle enough to get your ear and make your listen. There’s also two melodies, both very similar and both very effective. A nice long tune at 9 mins as well, I like this. | |

Original Shoreline Mix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Endforest | |
| Comments | A very mellow tune this, which you’d kind of guess by the title. Now, I like my chilled sound and this does deliver in most aspects, just not all. The main sound is constant throughout and after a while it does kind of grind on you. The beat is nice and smooth and there are some nice synths which fade in and out in places. The main melody does up the beat a tad and try to do the uplifting trick on you and almost succeeds. It just needs more synth work or at least a change in tempo of the constant noise throughout. A good effort. | |

Oxid Project & Tragida Remix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | John Huijbers | |
| Comments | Hhhmmm, there’s a nice twang about this. This has quite a nice dark and moody feel to it, but then it perks up with a nice bit of synth and piano. Unfortunately, at this point the tune dies off into a kind of nothingness; which is annoying. It does eventually kick back in; but it’s been too long and you’ve got bored. The tune doesn’t really explode either, promises to; but just doesn’t. This is an OK tune, just not as good as it started to sound. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Natlife | |
| Comments | OK, this takes a while to get going; but it is worth the wait. A very space sounding tune, with lots of noise going on. Good reverbing sort of bassline just keeps going over and over. The melody moves really well, lots of feeling; but just not long enough. This needs two melodies to lift it out of the shadows. A real shame as there is real potential here. Worth a listen nonetheless as it’s still a solid enough track. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good

| Artist | Anguilla Project pres. Star Industry | |
| Comments | This is a happy sounding tune. Tries hard to be a good tune, but there is something that let’s this down. Ok, the beat is a solid enough one and the anthem is OK. I think it’s the anthem though that has the problem. It’s a tad on the clicky side and then tries hard by throwing in a weird sort of sound towards the end, which doesn’t really work. Needs a lot more expression in this tune. It’s a good starting point and may tickle your fancy more than mine. | |

Sequnetia Remix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Cold Blue | |
| Comments | I do get a bit cold sometimes with this artist, but thought that Sequentia might beef this up a tad. It’s a tad on the dreary side to start, but that does pick up once you get to the melody. There’s only the one, but it’s quite a long one and the tempo does change throughout as it goes along. The main sound is OK, the beat moves along nicely; but there’s something missing. It doesn’t grab you by the balls and squeeze real tight; it’s more of a tickle. It does sound OK, but there’s so much out there at the moment and this doesn’t really get its head above water. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Paul Miller vs. Manual le Saux | |
| Comments | A solid enough club tune this. Hands in the air sort of stuff if you get my drift. I very anthem type feel to this, the melody basically throws a whole load of sound at you and then your senses have to work it all out. Not too difficult, as although the melody is a nice long one; it doesn’t change all that much. For once this works as the tune is clearly designed around not changing too much. It just delivers a sound, which is a good one. Won’t go far wrong with this one. | |

Steve Allen Remix 4/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Steve Allen & Will B | |
| Comments | A very euphoric tune this, very much in your face. Two very good melodies that deliver a really great sound. OK, it’s not new; but tried and tested always works for me as long as it’s well delivered. This delivers very well, a great beat and a great underlying sound throughout. Very much on the classic tip, this is what you will be hearing at peak times in the clubs. Odd, I don’t generally like this; but for once I do; must have caught me on an off day ! | |
